Question about Barca midfielder, Xavi

I know it's a little old case, but Xavi said that Manchester United contacted his agent. MU denied this. So who's right and why would anyone here want to lie ?

His contract is until 2010 so I don't think that's about it. Any other ideas ?

I think theyr'e looking for replacements for Giggsy and Scholes. Xavi being the obviious replacement for Scholes. giggs will be next on the list

sometimes it is the agent who make all the rumours for variuos reasons such like to increase their player value or to get a better contract from their club. this tactic always use when there is renewal contract negotiation
