vCash: 296 | Kuyt and Defoe for Newcastle The Toon are currently seeking a replacement for Alan Shearer and the talk o the tyne is that dutch striker Kuyt will sign after the world cup...defoe may sign before if he doesn't go to Germany as well. Only two players to replace Shearer. IMPOSSIBLE. Anybody know anything about Kuyt.?????? |

vCash: 500 | I've seen Kuyt a couple of times on channel 5, he looks capable enough but you willhave to wait and see if he adapts to the prem. I would really like to see Newcastle spending some money on player, the club is a bit of a sleeping giant and it's a bit of shame the way they run it. Would have liked to see them go for a better manager as well, would'nt have grudged Newcastle Martin O'neill if they had went for him. |

Kuyt is great, hard-working, always first to the battle, even does defensive work, and scores goals as a striker should. 20/25 each season in the dutch competiton for 4 years.. I think it will be a great signing for Newcastle. And Defoe is great too, so that will be 2 great strikers

Hard work and effort is respected by all Toon fans. Sounds like he could do well at St. James'. Thanks for the info Don Enzone. This Geordie is a little more excited about the possibility of having Kuyt , defoe and Owen. Hope we get him and a new defence!!!!

vCash: 500 | These three players would do very well for Newcastle. As for who goes on the bench it should be remembered that owen is injury prone and liable to be out for large portions of the season. |

Took the words out of my mouth. Newcastle also play in the Intertoto cup. More games Owen doesn't need. Tottenham did alright with Keane,Defoe and Mido last term. Looks like Kuyt could be the main man with Shola Ameobi as cover for him. Hope we get him!!!!

we did sign berbatov but let mido leave. if we let defoe go we'd have to sign 2 new strikers. he ain't leaving

vCash: 500 | don't know much about Kyut but he can't be too bad if he's made the Dutch W.C squad. if these signings come off Newcastle may just finally give Chelsea et all a run for their money. |

Mido has now gone but he has spent a lot of money on Berbatov, I assumed that Defoe would be third choice striker. There have been lots of reports in this country that Newcastle want him too.

vCash: 0 | Newcastle supposedly want him but as asfanskap says I think it is unlikely it will happen. Johl strikes me as being a very shrewd man and not likely to sell top quality players. ------ Premiership Champions Again ------ |

vCash: 700 | I've been in Newcastle this week and the Defoe rumuurs have died down. Although Defoe is said to have been offered around several Premiership clubs. However there are very strong suggestions in the local media that Kuyt will sign after the world cup. |

But I can confirm that the local press insists Kuyt will sign after the World Cup.

vCash: 500 | The Dutchman Dirk Kuyt looked impressive when he came on against Serb & Mont. Good pace and close control - he would be good signing for Newcastle. |

I hope he plays rubbish so as not to inflate the price and stop any other interested clubs at bay. He could do a real good job for us from what I saw. ![]()
