Liverpool scout Depor striker

Liverpool are interested in Deportivo striker Angel Arizmendi, according to the Spanish media.

Sports daily As reports that Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez has sent a scout to watch the young star, with positive results.

Depor are in financial straits and willing to sell Arizmendi. Also interested are Atletico Madrid, alerted to the player after his performance against city rivals Real Madrid in the Riazor in January.

Atleti are reported to be prepared to offer four million euros while the Reds have a figure of only three in mind.

Liverpool however are on good terms with the Galician club after they bought Alvaro Arbeloa last summer and Benitez shares his agent with the player, Manuel Garcia Quilon.

"All I want to do is play," Arizmendi is quoted in the 'paper. "The clubs have to decide something in the next few weeks."
