Europe’s Top Clubs Chase Gudjohnsen

The future of Chelsea ace Eidur Gudjohnsen looks uncertain at Stamford Bridge and Europe’s top clubs are keeping a close eye on the situation.

Manchester United, Real Madrid and Barcelona are all interested in the attacker. With Ruud Van Nistelroy looking set to leave Old Trafford they will have to strengthen their attack for next season and see Gudjohnsen as an ideal target.

Barcelona have lost Henrik Larsson who has returned to his native Sweden after a match winning performance in the Champions League Final.

However the Real Madrid interest may be linked to the proposed move of Roberto Carlos to The Bridge and may see Gudjohnsen move in the opposite direction.

The arrival of Andriy Shevchenko and Salamon Kalou added to Hernan Crespo and Didier Drogba has seen the Icelandic International drop down the pecking order at the Bridge and it is unlikely that Gudjohnsen will want to play for the Chelsea reserves next season.

A great player, he will make a great signing for most top clubs. It will be interesting to see where he ends up.

Could he go to Celtic?

There won't be a shortage of takers for him anyway.

I don't know where he will end up. But we would love him at Newcastle. Top drawer player.

After being in London for so long he may fancy some culture from Madrid or Barcelona. He may not want to play against Chelsea next season and more importantly Chelsea probably won't sell him to any of their big rivals.
