Sidwell set for Chelsea

The dynamic midfielder is scheduled to undergo a medical at Chelsea at Monday ahead of a proposed move to Stamford Bridge.
Sidwell is not expected to feature for Reading in their final game of the season against Blackburn on Sunday as he prepares himself for his medical tests at Chelsea.
A number of clubs have been chasing Sidwell, who is available on a free transfer, after turning down a new deal at Reading.
However, it appears Chelsea have won the race for his signature in beating off interest from the likes of Newcastle, Everton and Middlesbrough.
Should Sidwell seal his move to Chelsea he will become Jose Mourinho's first signing of the summer.

right enough, that chelsea bench is in danger of getting cold with wright phillips leaving in the summer.

"We hate Kelvin MacKenzie, he's a p**f!" T shirts now on sale. £5 each. Who says Scot's don't know how to make money.

Sidwell has simply followed the money because he won't get in and will be part of the Chelsea second string team. He should have gone somewhere where he could have been a invaluable player such as Newcastle, Everton etc and would have a chance of getting in the England squad.

exactly, this kind of situation really pinpoints the players who are in the game solely for the money.

I couldn't agree more. Chelsea's midfielders are some of the best in the world and at least Shaun Wright-Phillips plays for England every now again so Sidwell will probably only play in the Carling Cup, if he is lucky..

I guess, Mourinho does seem to have more faith in him now but he will never be a regular like Lampard, Essien etc.

I wouldnt say that essien is a regular. Only players Mourinho seems to stick with outside of the defense is Lampard and Dsrogba

Essien has played most games this season but like you said Mourinho does have his favourites like Lampard, Drogba, Terry, Cech etc.
