Chelsea midfielder Jiri Jarosik is currently in talks with SPL champions Celtic regarding a possible move to Parkhead.

The 28-year-old, who was on loan with Birmingham City last season, will decide his future over the next few weeks.

However, Celtic face stiff competition for the Czech’s signature, with clubs from the Premiership, Russia and Germany interested in the midfielder.

Agent Victor Kolar said: “ I have recently had discussions in Prague with Celtic over Jarosik.

“ But there is strong competition for the player from Russia and more than one English club interested.”

Despite Chelsea from CSKA Moscow in January 2005, Jarosik has made just 20 appearances for the Premiership champions. However, last season saw the player make 32 appearances during a season-long loan with Birmingham City.

Kolar added: “ There are also offers from Germany and Spain.

“ Jiri is just sitting back now, deciding his future, so we have not given anyone an answer. But he thinks it might be better to return to Russia, where he knows the language, or maybe stay in England.”

I can't see him moving to the SPL, just looks like his agent trying to drum up some attention.

I know what you mean but maybe he wants some Champions league football. The question should be are any of the other interested teams in the Champions League, if they aren't Celtic have a chance.

He be a cracking buy for Celtic. Probably a replacement for Petrov.
