Gunners Boss Admits to Kuyt Interest

Arsene Wenger has admitted he has considered signing Dutch striking sensation Dirk Kuyt.

The Dutch international has decided his future lie away from current club Feyenoord, with the Premiership his desired destination.

Rumours put Newcastle firmly in the frame for Kuyt’s signature with any fee likely to be around £10m.

Wenger’s admission that he would consider signing the striker should ensure Kuyt has a few clubs to choose from if he decides to leave Feyenoord.

During commentary of Holland’s second round World Cup m,atch against Portugal for French TV, Wenger acknowledged he has been to check on the 25-year-old, but declined to confirm whether or not he had made a bid for the player.

“ I went over to Feyenoord to check on him. He is a very generous player,” said Wenger.

He looked average at the World Cup, but many players do freeze on their first appearance. However, the Dutch fans seem to rate him highly.

It will be interesting to see where he ends up as he has stated that the Premiership is his preferred destination.

In the report it says that he is a striking sensation, it has taken a while for the 25 year old to become a sensation- a late developer maybe or just the hopes of Holland on his back?
