Rush: Move could do Bellamy good

Liverpool legend Ian Rush insists a move away from Anfield could do Wales captain Craig Bellamy the world of good ... because it will guarantee him regular first-team football.

Bellamy stands on the brink of a move away from the Reds after Liverpool paid £20m to land Fernando Torres from Atletico Madrid, and won’t be involved in today’s pre-season opener with Wrexham at the Racecourse.

Bellamy played, and scored, against the Dragons this time last year when he made his Liverpool debut after his much-trumpeted £6m move to Anfield from Blackburn.

But Bellamy won’t be involved this time and was in London for talks with West Ham yesterday while Liverpool prepared for the Racecourse game.

Bellamy, 27, has also been linked with Newcastle, Blackburn and Aston Villa, with Liverpool admitting they have had a number of offers for their Welsh ace.
