There was a link, that Newcastle were intrested in Ronaldinho.

Reports claim that new Newcastle owner Mike Ashley has made an audacious enquiry to Barcelona for former Fifa world player of the year Ronaldinho.

My Opinion:

They made the inquiry to make the headlines and get some popularity

They may be intrested in ronaldinho to get merchandise + better squad

The News of the World claims the United chief wants to bring in a world class talent to show his ambitions for the club but that the Spanish giants turned down the offer.

Ashley was reportedly told it would take £58 million to prize the Brazilian away from the Camp Nou.

Mike is a billionaire so he can afford him.

Ashley recently bought the club for £130 million and has given manager Sam Allardyce funds in order to get the club back into contention for a place in European competition, So ronaldinho could come.

that laughable we might as well sign kaka, drogba,c ronaldo and gerrard as well because if as it has been suggested and we do buy him why not the aforementioned, the only players i want newcastle to be linked with are top defs as scoring goals and creating chances hasn't been a prob but stopping them at the other end has been i can't count the no of times super shay has saved either all three or one point in the last 5 years but i bet we could have won the prem with them

Other players being linked with the toon include : Robinho, Cannavaro, Victor Valdes ,Rafael Marquez, Quedrue, Riquelme, Kaka, Messi, Deco, Diego, Wayne Bridge, Craig Gordon & Leighton Baines in what is proving to be a rumour friendly Summer

i'd have both the defs as for the rest of them who knows but hopefully valdes won't be pulling on a newcastle jersy
