Hibernian manager John Collins has ruled out a move for Kilmarnock striker Steven Naismith and admits he is unlikely to be able to afford Norway frontman Daniel Braaten.

Kilmarnock boss Jim Jefferies was expecting his club to receive an offer today for Naismith, although the identity of the bidders remains a mystery after he insisted the latest approach was not from long-time admirers Rangers.

Collins stressed Hibernian were not in the market for the 20-year-old, who made a brief debut for Scotland against the Faroe Islands last month.

And however much he would love to sign Braaten, Collins also recognises the Rosenborg forward is likely to prove too pricey for Hibernian.

Braaten, 25, has also been linked with Bolton - visitors to Easter Road on Wednesday - and French side Lens, and will leave Rosenborg when his contract expires at the end of the year.

Collins told the Edinburgh Evening News: "I'm very interested in him but I am sure there will be some very big clubs also watching him and I'd imagine he'll be outwith our radar in terms of wages."
