vCash: 480 | Ridgwell set for Blues move Aston Villa defender Liam Ridgewell will have a medical at city rivals Birmingham on Friday ahead of a proposed switch to the Premiership newcomers. Ridgewell is poised to make the short trip across the second city in a £2.25 million transfer after Villa boss Martin O'Neill gave the player the green light to move on. O'Neill confirmed: "It should all go to plan if he passes a medical tomorrow." Ridgewell has been deemed surplus to requirements by the Northern Irishman but Steve Bruce will be only too happy to welcome the player to his team. Bruce is also hoping to wrap up a deal for Fulham left-back Franck Queudrue. |
