Lyon beat Auxerre 1-0 with a goal from Florent Malouda in a game without a single card thats a remarkable statistic in itself.
But as Lyon disappear over the horizon and out of sight there is a tremendous battle for 2nd place developing with the next 8 teams divided by just 2 points.
The major headline in France this week PSG DIDN'T LOSE they drew 1-1 with Nantes.

Standings :1st Lyon 40 pts, 2nd Lille 26, 3rd Lens 26, 4th Souchaux 26, 5th AS Nancy 25, 6th Bordeaux 25, 7th Marseille 24, 8th St Eteinne 24, 9th Toulouse 24.

I didn't even realise how far ahead Lyon are, their class is showing through. It pains me to say it but it reminds me of when Rangers were the clear dominant force in Scotland and the league became so predictable.

I think this will be their 6th title in a row but maybe the 7th.
