Welcome to Football Talk!

Has to be Ronaldinho.

Surprised that you have Eto, King and Adriano ahead of Shevchenko, Ballack and Cannavaro though.

Has to be Ronnie for possesing the skills most only dream about. Surprised Shevchenko wasn't there. top scorer in Serie A for 4 seasons i think. pound for pound the best striker on the planet

I wouldnt say Nesta is the best defender in the world. I'd look to players like Terry, Lahm, Roberto Carlos in his prime and possibly even Gallas

Cannavaro is easily the best defender in the world, his reading of the game is second to none.

My picks.

GK: Buffon
Def: Cannavaro
Mid: Ballack
Att: Ronaldinho/Shevchenko. I honestly can't separate them, they both play different positions though.

I wouldn't say Carlos or Lahm are great defenders. they are almost attacking midfielders who are given full-back postions. Nesta is a great defender as is Terry.

We have all known of Cannavaro's abilty well before the World Cup

Ferdinand has the ability of being one of the best defenders, but he does 'turn off' during some games. The Ferdinand/Shevchenko battle is something that is already wetting my appetite for the Premiership to kick off.

He may be with many, but he has been my flavour of the month for many years now. He is the same mould as Baresi and someone that Ferdinand could learn from to take his game to another level.
