Grassroots, Premiership and Worldwide football

There is a documentary in the pipeline, which is going to take a close look at football in England. Its in the planning and research stages, it will be filmed in the summer, and to help with planning the short we would love to hear your views on the subject.

I'm gonna leave the subject as open as possible, I really want a good discussion, because any views raised will no doubt be involved in the research, and affect the documentary.

However, the aim of the documentary is to discuss -

-Whether children get enough oppertunities in football, and compared to other sports.
-Whether there are too many foreigners in our top league, and are they forcing english players downward as a result?
-Is money too much of an issue in the premiership?
-How does the premiership compare to top leagues in other countries where they players dominantly come from that country?

Discuss

Cheers for the help,
Mike (and co.)

I Would Say The Oppurtunities For Youngsters Are There It's Wether Enough Want To Do It As Green Spaces Seem To Be Replaced By Houses And More Signs Forbidding Ball Sports Are Increasing, Footballs Biggest Problem At The Moment Is How The Wealth Is Spread Throughout The Leagues As Only Few Teams Get It Ie The Top Four And Then The Mini League After That And The Lower Leagues Suffer As A Result As They Can't Afford To Offer The Same Facilities As Those In The Prem, Dave Jones At Cardiff Was Quoted As Saying The Facilities At Cardiff Have Cost Him Signings As Other Teams Have Better Ones. I Would Like To See Some Sort Of Legislation Passed Which Makes Teams Feild At Least Two Home Grown Players That Have Come Through There Acadamy Systems And Poss A Limit On How Many Foreigners They Can Field As Well, While I Don't Blame Foreign Playeres For Limiting Oppurtunities I Feel Managers Should Look Closer To Home And Players Also Need To Be Priced More Realisticly To.
