Lyon striker Karim Benzema has spoken of his admiration for crocked Milan star Ronaldo and has described him as the “best player ever”.


* Olympique Lyon striker Karim Benzema, who grew up admiring Ronaldo, said he felt sorry for the Brazil and AC Milan striker over his serious knee injury.

"He would have deserved another end to his career," said the 20-year-old France striker, who has a collection of Ronaldo matches on DVD and studies his every move.

"I have video's of all the greatest players, To me he is the best player ever," Benzema told his club's Web site (www.olweb.fr). "Even if he stops playing football I'll keep watching the DVDs. Having a career like his is my dream."


* Ronaldo ruptured the tendon in his knee against Livorno on Wednesday night, a career-threatening injury which will keep him out of the game for at least nine-to-12 months.

With this in mind it seems highly probable that Ronaldo the two time world cup winner will eventually retire from the game without playing another top-class match.

well he's only agreeing with what many people have said, Pele said after the world cup "on just talent you can compare Ronaldo to any of the greatest in history, but now that he has won a world cup he has justified this, deserves to be ranked up there with the greats" bryan and bobby robson many others that have clearly stated they believe ronaldo in his prime was The best out and out striker of all time. Remember Pele or Maradonna or Garrincha were not out and out strikers.

but does one world cup justify that legend title, he was a good goal scorer and his goals to games ratio is good but he seemed to be injured or unfit at every club he played for with exception maybe to his first few seasons at barca

hardly a ground breaking observation as he has always been overweight and a couple of games from full match fitness

he s weight affects his pace dont get him wrong he used to be class

he does seem to ecell at world cups i'll grant you but that doesn't make him world class, you have to perform against whoever your playing not just in the big games.
