Kaka is the best player in the world. Ronaldo is a great player but he doesn't do it enough in the big games for instance what did he do against arsenal yeah he scored a penalty but what else did he do. Against chelsea earlier in the season what did he do nothing. Also against Liverpool yeah he scored a free header but that apart he was very quiet for me there is still a question mark against Ronaldo when it comes to the big matches.

Before anyone says all the champions league goals when he scores against a truely world class side or when he produces a wonderful performance against a truely world class side then I will say maybe he is the best but for now I dont think he is Messi and Kaka are ahead of him IMO.

That said he is a wonderful player but best player in the world dont make me laugh.

Ronaldo is easily the best player in the world, what other striker let alone winger gets 40 goals a season

i have to agree with Kyle here. he's an excellent player, and progressing well, even just this season he's shown a lot of improvement.

but he's not there yet for me. he could very well be the best in the world in a couple of years, but not yet.

what does he have to do he's breaking records at united has surpassed there best ever wingers record and has come on leaps and bounds since his first season, lost his reputation as a diver, meanwhile kaka everytime i've seen him as been quiet and ineffectual, not sure where ac are in the league but last i heard it was their rivals setting the league alight not ac so do me a favour, this guy has the potential to be called the best player ever and it will have to be a very special player that beats him to an award this season and kaka aint that player. last year and the year before yes but know as i type this he's not in the same league

breaking records isn't the same as being the best. true greatness cannot be measured with statistics.

so liverpool weren't the best team during the sevebties and eighties then becasue they were statisticly the best.

they were the most successful, based on statistics, but who was the best team overall is an argument that you can't base purely on who won the most trophies. records will always be broken, but that doesn't mean one the player who came along later on and scored more goals is a better player, it just means they scored more goals.

it's like comparing a Spitfire to a modern jet fighter. it doesn't matter that the Spitfire can't fly as fast or as high as a jet fighter, or that it doesn't have laser-guided missiles and stealth technology, it's still the greatest fighter plane of all time because of what it did, when it did it and how it did it. it's an icon. it's a legend.

Christiano Ronaldo isn't an icon yet, and he's not a legend. he hasn't achieved the heights yet. i'm undecided on who is the best player in the world right now, but it's not Ronaldo. not yet anyway.

while i can see what your getting at but i still feel that at this moment in time ronaldo is the best player i have seen playing, and there hasn't been another player this season who has come close to his level of consistentcy and performance levels so for me at this moment he is the best player in the world.
