vCash: 500 | Justice As I'm sure a lot of you are aware of the Hillsborough disaster in 1989 when 96 Liverpool fans died. I'm sure you are also aware of the protest at Anfield on saturday at the FA Cup match against arsenal. For those who were unsure what was happening at the protest, the fans were singing "Justice for the 96" which was aimed at Kelvin MacKenzie, the former editor of the sun who published an article full of lies about "incidents" that happened at Hillsborough. MacKenzie is now working for the BBC and is possibly getting his own reality TV show on ITV. Members of a Liverpool forum red and white kop have set up 2 petitions to remove MacKenzie from the BBC and to prevent ITV giving him his own show. You may not be Liverpool fans or even like Liverpool, but you must surely agree that what happened on 15th April 1989 was a tragedy and pray it never happens again. The lies published by MacKenzie were hurtful and incensitive to Liverpool fans around the world and the families who were buring their mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters and children. If you dont know what happened or what was said there are many websites giving you more information, but how would you feel if someone you loved was killed due to aweful policing and decisions and their good name was dragged through the mud. To top it all off MacKenzie actually sent photographers to the funeral of 2 young brothers even though their mother had specifically asked for the media to respect her plea for the media to stay away. I am posting this to ask for fellow football fans, and human beings to sign these 2 petitions against MacKenzie working for the BBC and ITV. BBC - Get the BBC to drop Kelvin MacKenzie as a presenter Petition ITV - Get Granada/ ITV to drop Kelvin MacKenzie as a presenter Petition Thank you for taking the time to read this, and hopefully sign the petitions. JUCTICE FOR THE 96 - You'll Never Walk Alone |

vCash: 500 | i wondered what the protest was for. i'll now have to read what he said. From what you have said this at the very least is insensitive and crass. sounds like cheap sensationalism at the expense of a tragedy and the dead. not surprised then that the BBC didn't explain in depth the reason for the protest |
