Tyson Vs Holyfield III??????

Of course, it probably won't happen. It is very convenient that Holyfield's comments on the matter coincide with the release of a new book.

He was quoted as saying in The Guardian: "There has been some talk between us.

"Mike had Jeff Fenech, who's been training him, call me a few months ago. Jeff says Mike wants to fight me again - but he needs to know if I would agree to it.

"I said, 'It all depends on what they are going to give us - because I'm gonna catch a lot of flak if I say I'm fighting Mike Tyson again. I've already said I don't want to fight Mike no more'.

"Jeff says, 'What if Mike gets in proper shape?' I told him that's OK but I can't be part of it if Mike's going to pull out.

"Jeff said, 'The main thing Mike
wants to know is if you would be willing to fight him again?' I said, 'Yeah, if the price is right, I probably would'."

Is this just book-launch bluster? Would you pay to see it if it wasn't? And who would win?

i'd only watch that for the novelty, as i can't imagine the fight would be that great by itself. both are past it.

The whole heavyweight scene is so pathetic nowdays it needs something like this to revive interest. The old American dominance has gone & now we're left with the likes of Klitchsko & Igbramov playing pat a cake. I'd watch Holyfield Tyson if only for the memories they both supplied during their peak years.

Still everybody knows how vicious and competitive Tyson can get, If they did end up fighting he would come out blazing and relentlessly and although both fighters skills have severely diminished I would still fancy either of them fit, would make short work of most of the current crop of pathetic heavyweights

but neither is likely to be fit. not a level of fitness anywhere near their prime, anyway. Tyson's a shadow of his former self, and will never regain the level he was once at, physically or mentally.

that's true tyson is the gazza of boxing lots of ability and the uncanny knack of surrounding himself with the wrong people, i think if it did come about it would do more harm than good to the sport

Yes, agreed, he couldn't get back into shape properly. Perhaps 3 or 4 rounds at best. Holyfield would more than likely go the difference but if so the bout would be more like an entrance to come dancing but less aggresive.
