Hammers Fan Cycling to all 20 Prem Grounds

Hi Folks

I need your help.

I am in the process of planning a charity event, which will involve me cycling to all 20 Premiership Football Grounds. I will be starting at Newcastle United on March 24th 2007 and finishing at West Ham United's Upton Park on April 7th 2007, covering a distance of approximately 800miles. This is to be done in aid of The Bobby Moore Fund for Cancer Research UK for which I hope to raise in excess of £10,000. I also hope to collect signed shirts from each club to be auctioned off after the challenge.

My "fixture list" for the cycle is as follows:

Saturday 24th March - Newcastle United, Middlesbrough FC
Monday 26th March - Blackburn Rovers, Bolton Wanderers, Wigan Athletic, Liverpool & Everton
Tuesday 27th March - Man Utd, Man City & Sheffield Utd
Thursday 29th March - Aston Villa
Saturday 31st March - Watford
Monday 2nd April - Reading
Tuesday 3rd April - Portsmouth
Friday 6th April - Fulham, Chelsea, Charlton Athletic, Arsenal & Spurs
Saturday 7th April - West Ham United

I am currently seeking donations and support from businesses and individuals to help me acheive the target of £10,000. Please give generously.

For more information or to make a donation, please do not hesitate to visit the fundraising site at www.justgiving.com/jwpenfold.

Cheers

J

GH, you don't need three threads for this. for that reason i've removed your other two.

we have rules against advertising - a minimum of 25 posts is required, after which you can have a thread in the advertising section. the reason we're letting you away with advertising is because it's for charity. we wish you all the best with this, but this forum isn't here so you can pimp out your sponsor page.

i'll sticky this until further notice. please don't create any more duplicates, as they'll just be removed.

Point taken. Lost track of where I have posted things. However, I really don't appreciate you referring to it as pimping. I think that is disrepectful and a little harsh, especially as it is for a good cause and the majority of the prem clubs are not supporting me with this.

thanks. I've just about hit the £500 mark. I think things will accelerate after Xmas. As an incentive to get people to donate I'm setting up some prize draws. First 1 is set up with more to come once I've confirmed prizes. First draw is for those people who donate/sponsor £5. All those people will be put in a hat and 1 name drawn out in April. Winner will get a skysports goody bag including an England Barmy Army T-shirt and Escape to Victory on DVD.

I'll do similar things for the £10 sponsors, £20+ sponsors and also a prize for the individual who puts in the highest donation once I've confirmed prizes.

Just to keep everyone up to date with progress....

Since the new year I have been swamped with support from the clubs.

Aston Villa - Signed Shirt
Man City - Gift and photos in the stadium when I arrive
Liverpool - Signed Ball and photos at Anfield
Middlesbrough - Signed pennant
Blackburn - Signed photo
Newcastle United - I was at St James' Park prior to the West Ham match on 20th to meet Glen Roeder, get a signed shirt and also get photos done pitchside. NUFC are doing an article in the programme for their match with Aston Villa

Other clubs have said I welcome to their grounds for photos.

Chelsea and Arsenal have said they will not be supporting me.

I have also set up a website to allow people to follow my training and preparations as well as following my progress during the bike ride itself. Just click here - Jamie's Premiership Challenge

I've now reached the £1000 mark. Just another £9000 to go!!!!
