i'd rather do without commentators on TV. i can see perfectly well what's happening for myself, without inane bullshit and speculation from some twat who can't even speak English correctly.

am i to assume then you know the names of every single football player in the world so on the off chance partick thistle ever play in europe against some obscue norweigan side you can identify them, for the rest of us the commentators are worth a bit of nonesense

i don't need to know their names - especially obscure Norwegian sides. i'm quite happy referring to a speedy wee guy on the left wing as 'the speedy wee guy on the left wing', or whatever. if i did need to know their names, then i could refer to the squad list they show at the start, and pick it up from there, or the on-screen graphic when a player is subbed or booked.

you don't get commentators pointing out the names of all the players at the game, why do you need it on TV?

Andy gray is overrated imo, I personally think he just overemphasizes the obvious too much.

My favorite is Ray Hudson though on gol tv in america, former newcastle united player, ive never heard anyone like him, simply amazing he is, ill watch a game that im not interested in, just to hear his commentary.
