Not booking my tickets yet. like any other scotland fan im still waiting for some horrible gut wrentching twist in the tale. But you never know, we have a five point advantage over italy... sorry world champions italy!!

tough games to come against the world champions, france and ukraine and georgia as well as the return lithuainia game. So far job well done...more of the same please.

very interesting scores this qualifiers im french and weve had revenge on italy yay only if it was on the final

Seriously, i'm not getting carried away. It's just good we have our pride back and that when we go into a game we have agood chance of victory. Wished we were facing Italy next instead of France. Looks like revenge was had by les Bleus. should be a cracking game at Hampden. I would be quite happy to finish the group in 2nd behind France who already are the team to beat

I read somewhere that Henry has come out saying the only team he's particually worried about is Scotland due to their rough style of attacking football.

yeah, i read this as well. However this is such a tough group. The Ukraine have hardly been mentioned over the last couple of days. This group could end up being the tightest group to call.

i can see this group being an almighty scrap for 2nd place. the only team capble of running away with it are the French. This our best chance in the last ten years to push for qualification. we have to be aggressive

I think we have continue with what walter is doing. We are aggressive, we attack teams when we can but first and foremost we are difficult to beat. Italy already know this.

These group stages dont normally provide a huge amount of interest but this one is a cracker. this group will be the one to watch (hopefully more so for scotland fans though

).

i'd be surprised if they didn't qualify. certainly have a strong enough squad. Their weak link for me is Domenech. I have not been impressed by him so far as a coach

ive been surprised by him everyone underestimated him in the final u remeber people sayin that if brazil won against france they would of had a good world cup! domenech disagreed and so did i i thought france deserved to win the world cup they had a harder way to the finals and we deserved to win the final it was really agrieving

We have played the two weakest teams in the group and won, we couldn't have done any better. A great start from Scotland, but the real work is still to come.

France? No bother, just about to pop down to the bookies

Admittedly the faroes game was an easy game. However, Lithuinia are a good side who we havent beaten on thier patch until now. Lithuainia are a side that will frustrate a few teams in this group. They have already taken a point off of italy.

I dont think this optimism is Scotland fans getting carried away with themselves. It's got more to do with the beleief that, given the results we have achieved under Walter Smith and co, we can challenge for qualification this year. We've been away from these tournaments to long. Everyone else knows these championships arent as much fun without the Tartan Army!

according to French pundits, they got to the final IN SPITE of HIM not because of him. Apparently the French senior players had a lot to do with tactics. He doesn't inspire a lot of confidence among French supporters, so i've heard
