Post Ferdinand backed for captain role

Owen Hargreaves feels his Manchester United skipper Rio Ferdinand should be England captain on a permanent basis.

he seems to be the favourite at the mo but tery, gerrard or owen shouldn't be dismissed as candidates.

Well Hargreaves would say that as he's a man utd player.

I would go for Terry I think he's more of a natural leader and is always committed. Plus he's a better role model than ferdinand (i kick stewards and don't bother with drug tests).

Plus Ferdinand does have the odd concentration lapse.

to be fair he hasn't had many this season as along with vidic has been immense, as for a better role model terry does like a scrap with a bouncer or two.

Yeah but his attitude on the pitch is better. He's a no nonsense passionate leader.

Ferdinand has improved but I remember his shocking positioning for the croatia goal.

Liking Man Utd I go for Ferdinand.
Just a thought, I notice Butcher getting his say in, was wondering thats a conflict of interest is it not, is he not a Scotland coach. LoL

terry butcher always has his say wether he's employed or not, as for the captincy we will apparently know soon as he has made a decision
