vCash: 500 | England's mediocrity is the England national team suuffering due to the amount of foreigners plying their trade in the EPL? last week of all the players that started premiership games, 40% were English. is this having a detremental affect on the national team or is it purely poor tactics etc.......? |

I think italy would have to be the benchmark here. they are the world champions, like it or not, and thier full squad is based in italy. | |

vCash: 500 | nah, togo had some players playing in europe. doesnt adebeayor play for togo? anyway it shows you that if you have the system to bring the players through and you give them thier chance your national team will benifit from this. The italians are testimont to this as much as i hate to admit it cause i hate the way they play. |

vCash: 500 | England imo still don't have the right man in charge to help this squad reach their full potential. while i still don't think England have enough world class players to win a the world cup this squad with the right manager have a chance of reaching the Euro final |

vCash: 500 | i would agree with that one. if England got allardyce they would be more of a threat. if they had got O'niell however (god forbid), they could win the euro's. |

vCash: 500 | it's not really for me to say as i don't give it too much though, although it more than apparent that McClaren isn't up to the job. However. the media have built up English fans hopes of winning a major tourny which won't happen soon as i think the squad is mediocre |

vCash: 500 | The majority of England's squad was based in England for the World Cup. If memory serves me correctly then only Beckham and Hargreaves are foreign based. I do realise what you mean with foreigners in the game keeping English players out the team. However, the best way for players to improve is to learn from better players. If they didn't then they would get humped every time - just like what has happened in nearly every WC since 1966 [Italia 90 excluded]. Every year England are touted as potential winners, 20 years of hurt, 24 years of hurt, 28 years of hurt.... but last year was the first that they actually had players that other top countries were very frightened of, but just as has been said previously, they didn't have a manager that scared these teams! |
