I think it will be intresting. Shall be v. intresting to see how Walcott does to be honest.

Apart from that i dont think the squad is too bad.

I think it will be hard for us to win it though.

an injured Rooney, an injured Owen, Crouch and Walcott as back up..........cheers Sven your now an honorary national hero in Scotland.

Could this be Sven getting his own back on a nation he feels that doesn't appreciate him? It sounds like sabotage to me.

The rest of the squad pretty much pick itself, but the fowards... i just can't fathom. Would've thought someone like Bent or Johnson (proven goalscorers) would've made it

Got to agree with you Jedi Knight. Two injured forwards and a 17 year old who has never even kicked as ball in the Premiership. Walcott will be a fantastic player but not now.

Rooney and Owen were in similar positions in the previous world cup and euro championships but they did have experience playing for their first teams before these major tournaments.

Just another crazy decision by Sven - at least I have know doubt England will not win anything with him in charge.

Do you think McLaren will get the best out of this squad?

This means 1 up front with wingers a la cheslsea. But even Mourhinho changed to 2 strikers when this was not working. Sven has left himself with very little options up front. Might have a bet on England not to score in any game!!!

(oh!! sorry 3!) crouch isnt a prolific goal machine!!
Maybe i've missed somthing but we are a bit scarce up front on ,
( FIT ) natural goal scorers!!

Do you think this means a counter-attacking game for England, using pace to exploit the opposition?
Crouch for a change in tactics if it's all going pete tong.

Have to agree, these strikers leave him little room to manoeuvre. Must be planning one through the middle, hoping for Lampard and Cole to get beyond the fowards

If Crouch is injured where would that leave Sven?

In fact maybe it would be better if he did get injured, or is it only me who thinks he is the biggest fairy in the Premiership?

Hey, that's a right insult to fairys', at least they're useful lol

He's the only player who need clearance from air traffic control when he goes up for a header

But he doesn't jump. Put a miner's lamp on him and he would be streetlamp.

Crouch may be 6ft 7in but he can only jump to 6ft 5in. I have never seen him attack a ball or beat 2 men and score. I think sven hopes that his strong midfield will feed of the knockdowns as defence back-off beanpole Crouch.

No doubt England have a world class team but with injuries etc they are looking a bit ordinary. But sometimes ordinary players play better wothout the big ego's in the team.

Enough of the strikers who partners John Terry in defence.

Rio , Sol , Carragher

Why can no one see how over rated a player Rio Ferdinand is? Isnt there a 17 year old defender that hasn't played a game in the premiership that Sven could have picked? I think that Sol Campbell should definatly play.

And personally i'm praying that Sven reinstates David James in Goals!

By suggesting Campbell, me thinks you are not an Engerlund fan.

Personally i think Rio could achieve greatness if he could lose some of that arrogance. He has to remember that his primary job is to defend and not strut around as though he is a cultured midfielder. At times he's a liability at the back as he dilly dallies and appears to show a total lack of respect for opposition strikers.

He should look to John Terry who is world class and gets the job done!!

I think Rio has been a little complacent at Manu U from Jan onwards. Seemed to pick up the last 6 games of the season though.

He may be a Scottish fan who would like to see England lose.
