i'm not british. and i do sort of support england usually.. but not when we're in the same group.

The word is arrogance, though we also understand that the media down there can take 80% of the blame, its sickening, especially going on about the world cup in 66 over and over and over again, especially when you won 2-2!

We like some of your players and some of your teams, but collectively we dont like the arrogance! If England were not pretencious and more humble in victory and more gracious in defeat, I'm sure England would have gained much more support and plaudits!

It is not a jealousy issue or a chip on the old shoulder like some people think!
But we do take great interest in your matches and credit where its due, you have been involved in some great battles!

Lets face it England are our biggest rivals. Any sort of victory against the English is massive for us. When England play well and win an important match it is as if the media believe that England SHOULD win. A reality check will be req by many commentators and pundits at this years WC.

Being a Rangers fan i like to see former players of the old firm ,whether it be Rangers or celtic do well ,so if sweden won 2-1, which is my prediction! il be very happy!

have to agree guys. it's their lack of humilty and arrogance that makes them so hated. a general smugness and a hint of Imperialisic overtones also contributes.

Example, last night before England's b game against Belarus, Martin Tyler smuggly mentioned the 4 pts Belarus gained against Scotland, patronised Belarus, and proceeded to state they wouldn't hurt England and 'we' wouldn't be talking about them afterwards. well he got that bit right cos they bloody won.
