Sven Has Picked His First XI

Quote:
The England coach, Sven Goran Eriksson has stated that he already knows which eleven players will be playing in England’s opening game in the World Cup in the Waldstadion against Paraguay on June 10th.

In addition the outgoing England manager has stated that he will play his strongest side in England’s next two friendly matches against Hungary and Jamaica.

Not much of a surprise is that Aaron Lennon will not start in the opening game, even although he was awarded Man of the Match against Belarus in the recent friendly.

"Lennon might not start but he can be on the bench and then it depends on how the game goes. I think he will be very useful in the World Cup.”
"I didn't gamble with him. I saw him a lot for Tottenham and every game he did very well.”

"It was a difficult decision to prefer him to Shaun Wright-Phillips but Lennon deserves to be there on form.”

"We will start the competition in a 4-4-2. At the moment, my midfield is built with Joe Cole on the left, Gerrard and Lampard in the centre and Beckham on the right.

"Then we will see match after match. That is why I have tried 4-1-3-2 in the past. Unfortunately we don't have any English Makelele."

Then Eriksson continued, "I am at the top of the ski-jump, and I dream to land in final at Berlin on July 9!

"Today's team is stronger than four years ago, with more experience. Each day it is a little more mine. I have modelled it all along the five and a half years I have spent here.

"This country deserves to experience again the ultimate emotion."

Inspiring words but time will tell if his 5 years in charge will land us what the whole nation has been dreaming of since that glorious day in 1966.
Is this guy up for the job?? Seriously, what ski jump? Land in the final? Is this man lost his mind?

No suprises there then. the starting 11 pretty much picks itself (assuming everyone's fit). they have a little more strength in depth this time around

The FORCE will always triumph over the dark side!!!

I think the English media have had enough surprises with Theo Walcott being added to the squad.

So much for knowing the starting XI, does he remember who he actually picked in the squad?
