Germany Vs Costa Rica

So Germany take the opening game of the world cup.

Do you rate Germany?

On that evidence they will struggle, poor organisation in defenceand sloppy in midfield against a very poor Costa Rica.

I realise Ballack will be back but both he and Podolski play for the same position and I reckon he was one of Germany's better players.

i thought germany were good considering its the first game, they have potential and can strike from distance! impressive first game for me, usually its a draw or a 1-0 win ,but this was ok! they will also improve! not my favourites, but they are no mugs!

you know the rules!

Nice start to the WC, Had to listen to the first 35 minutes on the college bus as i dont normally get back from college till 5:30 but the second half was good and from reports the whole match was very good.

The Germans do look like they will be competition, but i can only see a quater final maybe semi final place.

There team has under gone a huge transformation lately, not necessary a bad change, but a change no doubt about it.

And good to see Jens playing. Just love the man. Big cuddly Jens Lehmann.

You can write off their chances if you want but as an England fan I would always be wary of Germany

They can be an extremely determined team when they want to be and they showed enough last nite to suggest they can hurt teams going forward.

Defensively, maybe that was the wake up call they needed. They will probably get better as the tournament goes on.

Two cracking goals.
