vCash: 500 | S&M: Robben Is The Star Arjen Robben stole the show yesterday as he lit up the World Cup with one of the best individual displays seen so far. The Chelsea winger scored the only goal of the game for the Dutch as they beat a tough Serbia & Montenegro outfit in the baking sun in Leipzig, East Germany. Ruud van Nistelrooy had vowed to show his skills after being left out of the final Manchester United game of the season when he sensationally walked out of the club but his appearance was cut short by coach Marco van Basten after a poor display. However, the name on everyone’s lips was for Arjen Robben, but the 22 year old said he was playing for the team, "It's nice to hear, it's a good compliment, but it's no more pressure than normal on me. "I want to do well for the team but it's not important for me or anyone else to be regarded as the player of the tournament. would prefer win the cup." "We knew beforehand it was going to be a difficult game against strong opponents but we were in control for most of it though they had some opportunities. "We were very happy to score quite early and we can be satisfied overall. You could see in the second half the heat affected both teams, the speed was much slower." Serbia and Montenegro coach Petkovic was sure he knew how his side’s downfall had transpired, through the inspirational Robben. "Robben is extraordinary and it is very difficult to stop such a player. My defenders did not disappoint me because some players are so good you cannot stop them. "Ronaldinho is such player and Robben is also in that category, someone who can dribble and shoot. "We were rather too careful and in our next two matches we need to play more aggressively in attack. "It is still possible to take six points from those matches." |

vCash: 1381 | He was on fire yesterday and the dutch looked pretty good before the latter part of the match. Took his goal well and had a few other shots and good quality general play. I'be watching for him next game. The Dutch will need him to play like that just to qualify. He'll get double teamed by the opposition which may give the other Dutch attackers more scope to have an impact. D'oh |

Cole was the best England player on the field but top say his performance was better than Robben's? You need to stop listening to the media down south mate and in particular Ian Wright. | |
