Del Piero Contract Problems Continue

Contract talks between Alessandro Del Piero and Juventus directors remain deadlocked after a fresh round of discussions provided no results.

Del Piero’s brother Stefano met with Jean-Claude Blanc and club director of sport Alessio Secco yesterday but it is believed little common ground was found between the two parties.

The Golden Boy admitted himself on Tuesday that “at the moment there are big differences, but I am sure an agreement will be found.”

Although Del Piero has made it perfectly clear that he wants to spend the rest of his career at the club, he is believed to be angry with the proposal of a 30% wage cut. More talks are scheduled for today and tomorrow.

A couple of weeks ago Secco moved to reassure fans over the slow progress being made by stating that an agreement was around the corner.

"There are no major issues. Each club has to look out for itself and take into account all possibilities,” said Secco."But the negotiations are a lot simpler than the newspapers like to imply. We just need to iron out the details."

Del Piero has scored 218 league goals for Juventus since his debut in 1993, aged 18.

he was the best player on the park for them last week. doesn't have the pace he used to, but he's still got plenty of skill and a footballing brain.

Yea im watching that game right now, Del Piero still has a great footballing mind and though his pace and speed may not be there he is more intelligent than most on the pitch.

Great game going on by the way right now.

Come on you Reds!

Totti really is a fantastic player, Roma has a great chance of winning the Serie A this year, they seem like a very good squad.
