Cant see any action like this but the italian politicians are going to have toake some action. Families are frightened to go togames, attendences are lowering which isnt helping the already pecarious financial positions some of the clubs. How do you handle this behaviour when its on such a massive scale? | |

vCash: 500 | Why give teams like celtic a bye? AC Milan have done nothing wrong to my recollection. It was violence between Catania and Palermo. Not between any other clubs. Rumours suggest that the policeman was killed in an act of revenge by the Catania supporters because he may have testified to a game in the past between Catania and Messina |

vCash: 500 | I was more saying that with tounge in cheek really. I dont believe that they would do that. However even if you put the death of the police mna down to a revenge killing the fighting outside and inside the stadiums has become a huge problem for football in italy. Something which is getting out of hand. While i understand you wanting to defend Milan you surely understand that it is a bad day when the italian FA have to cancel all the games. |

vCash: 726 | i think the Italian FA are just at a stage where they'll take everything uber-serious, in an attempt to avoid any further negative reaction worldwide towards Italian football after the Calciopoli scandal. calling all the games off is probably just a kneejerk reaction, in the hope that the supporters will just chill out for a week or two and any collective violent urges will die down. sadly, i expect the fans to get stir-crazy with no football and get even more wound up. |

vCash: 379 | I agree I think the Italian FA wanted to be seen to take swift action in order to pre-empt any Uefa sanctions, latest I heard is they are talking about suspending all matches for 2 weeks and then playing the rest of the season behind closed doors. I also agree it would be unfair to ban all Italian teams from European competition. |

vCash: 500 | but playing matches behind closed doors.... wouldnt that mean the teams would have an empty stands.... and therefore make $0 from the gate for the rest of the season.... there's no way any team can take that kind of financial blow for another 10+ matches..... MANCHESTER UNITED ARE CHAMPIONS AGAIN!!!!!!!! |

vCash: 500 | I'm not sure that this is just a knee jurk reaction so that the fa has been seen to do something as has been suggested. Calling off all games in Italy and potentially the national game is a massive step and will have cost the clubs a lot of money. They are not just trying to save face here, as has been suggested. There is a very real that rpoblem with hooliganism that has have caused major international news stories twice. I personally think it is comendebal that the government has now threatened those without the proper security measures with closed door games. These clubs have neglected strengthening this part of thier organisations. It is thier responsobility to make sure that good honest fans who want to simply go and support thier team are safe. |
