vCash: 500 | European loss. Despite Europe having stronger squad. Westwood is the only weak player for Europe. Where as Americans have J.J Henry and Wetterich and Zach Johnson. Who are worse then Westwood. The thing is Woods is soooooooooooo damn good at the moment he accounts for a good two or three players. Then with guys like Mickelson and Toms it proofs hard for us. Donald will be key i feel. The one thing for the europeans is how will Darren Clarke react to his wife dieing recently, Olazabal is lacking form recently. And might be a problem. |

vCash: 500 | don't know much about golf but i do know how seriously the Yanks take it and how much it hurts those arrogant sods when little old Europe gubs them. What are our chances this year guys? Are the yanky doodle dandies going to be greeting in their cornflakes on the way back over the pond? |

vCash: 500 | This is the only golf competition that I watch. I remember watching when it was taking place in the US and the crowd were trying to put of the European golfer teeing off. For it being a gentleman's game the Americans certainly want to be the best by any means, does this happen often? |

vCash: 500 | Although not the biggest golf fan ( though it appeals more the older i get. maybe cos it's time away from the wife lol) i'll be rooting for Europe as the Ryder cup seems to bring out the worst in the Yanks in terms of arrogance and being bad losers. |

vCash: 500 | Day 1 done and Europe lead 5-3. The day started off at 8am and by 8:02 we had our first talking point. Tiger Woods hitting a 5-wood into the water on the 1st. Despite that though Jimmy Furyk won the hole with a Birdie 3. Captain Ian "Windbag" Woosen decided to put out the spanish duet of Garcia and Olly. And despite having to go to bloody college aparrently played like the clappers. They won there match 3&2. The partnership of Clarke and Westwood won their opening match on the final green against the good team of Phil "Big Boobs" Mickelson and Chris DiMarco whilst last weeks winner Paul Casey and the inform Swede of Rob Karlsson halfed their match against the impressive J.J Henry and Stewart Cink. The Woods/Jim/Monty/Harrington game was won by The Americans again on the final green so heading into the afternoon play Europe lead America by 2.5 to 1.5 After a wee spot of tea the Captains annoucended the Match ups for the afternoon. Stenson, McGinley, Donald and David Howell were all brought in to replace Clarke, Karlsson, Olly and Paul Casey. During the afternoon all matches were close and no partnership had a more then 3 hole lead. The main attraction was the Garcia/Donald partnership going up against the number 1 and 2 in the world in Woods and Jimmy. Once again Tubby and DiMarco were kept together. This time going up against Monty and Westwood. Howell and Stenson teamed up against two very good Americans in Cink and Toms. Whilst The crowds were treated to a all Irish team as Harrignton and McGinley teed up for Europe over a team of Chad Campbell and Zach Johnson. In the top match Team Ireland were 3 up with 2 to play but after a sexy 6 on the final green could only half the match. The result was the same in the Howell/Stenson/Cink/Toms match which was a very good reults as that was a good American partnership. And once again the points were shared in the Monty match with Monty having to hole a 6foot putt to win the final hole to gain half a point. In our feature match a seeminly off form Tiger Woods struggled against Garcia and Donald who eventually won the match 2&1. So with the close of day 1 Europe would Lead America 5-3. This has been my mini report. I think most you left this after a minute but thanks if your here. Day 2 to come. TOMORROW!!!!! |

vCash: 500 | haha, well done Europe. Sergio was crazy this Ryder cup, whats his record something like 10-0. I dont understand why the USA is not so good, they have all the players, yet when they all play together they do bad. Who cares though, Europe won for the 3rd time in a row and thats never happened before for either side. Better at, Golf, better at Football, better in general. |
