Glad Bond won. Not a fan of Hendry at all.

Because he usually dominates the game and takes it to a different level? How can anyone not be a fan of such blatant natural talent. An absolute joy to watch when on form, which to be fair, is most of the time. Poetry

Blowing the trumpet for the Scots players.

In fairness they don't seem to get the backing at the World Championship, the England player is cheered on more.

that's exactly why we play so well probably, we seem to excel at being the underdog. Even our world class players are always the underdog because, as you say, they never seem to get the backing. So it's probably just as well!

i think everyone plays better when their the underdog as they get no media attention or very little anyway afew examples:

Palace PLayOff Final 04 west ham favorites palace beat them as we had "no pressure"

FA Cup Final 2006 - West Ham played well, excelled themselves and were 4 minutes from winning it. Underdogs.

I see a pattern

Absolutely! I think it definately is a pressure thing. Some people don't react well to it at all, whereas others thrive on it. I think the Scots are just bad under pressure in general, we always seem to have ourselves beaten before the game's under way. I think it's from experience though, because we do tend to have 'glorious in defeat' syndrome, losing when we don't really deserve it.
