Should Argentina join rugby union's tri-nations series?

Yes beacuse it could help develope the sport of rugby union in Argentina more so than it is currently is as more games against quality sides like New Zealand will improve the standard of Argentinian national side and improve their results against the likes of Scotland in the World Cup which can only be good for the games Rugby Union as the rugby World Cup is too dominated by the original big eight nations and have a different set of nations qualifying and failing to for the rugby World Cup quarter finals can only be good for the game of Rugby union as having the same eight nations in the quarter finals each rugby world cup is boring.

I think they should ,they have a very strong team and deserve a place in the southern hemisphere's premier rugby competition .

"The time is long overdue for Argentina to be part of the Tri-nations. If Italy can be part of the Six nations, surely Argentina deserve to be competing in an annual major rugby event".

& what happens when they hammered every time they play the Kiwi's ,Aussies & Bok's. Should they not have their own series first with the likes of Urugauy USA Canada...I understand the notion of trying to include them but if you compare them with the Italians & the six nations then the Italians are not too far behind the Europeans. Compare the Europeans now against the Southern hemisphere teams then there is no comparison. I worry it will set them back.

I think you are underestimating the quality of the Argentinian rugby team , they are actually quite good especially at home , in recent years they have beaten England ,France & Australia in Buenos Aires & draw with the all blacks.

They beat England at Twickenham only last year & defeated a very strong Ireland team 22-20 just last week

They are closer in quality to the tri nations teams than Italy were to the 5 nations teams when they entered the competition a few years ago and they would improve from being in the competition, and they really are too good for the other coutries in the Americas

Uraguay recently lost a world cup qualifier to Portugal , thats how bad they are.

I know it's going off thread a little, but how do the other teams in that region improve without measuring themselves up against their near neighbours? Those examples were friendlies wern't they ? (forgive me if i'm wrong) If so I would expect the likes of the Ausies & the Boks having slightly understrength teams..when they played England we were going through a bad run (also we were crap then) not sure about Ireland. I'm not underestimating Argentina but I wonder about them in serious competition....there's one way to find out I suppose !

This is why Rugby works in such archaic terms compared to other major sports.

argentina are probably the most underestimated rugby side on the international scene, they have one of the best packs and if allowed to join then it would help them develop and possibly help them on a domestic front
