vCash: 500 | Cricket World Cup The first round format is great 4 groups of 4 groups pleay each team in a groupd once with only top two going through. Having exactly 16 teams rather than having more increase squality and reduces qualtity. what do you think Great to see Ireland in the Super Eight it keep the sport fresh to see shock results in the GAME. PS My Condolences to Bob Woolmer's loved one's. ![]() Last edited by Stevens : 03-23-2007 at 11:17 PM. |

vCash: 379 | Today is the start of the second phase of the world cup the so called super eights. The 8 remaining teams play each other in a round robin , which will last untill the 21st April then the top 4 will face of in the semi's ( 1st v 4th & 2nd v 3rd) I think this format is a little over long maybe 2 groups of 4 would have been better, to confuse the issue teams carry the points earned against fellow super 8 qualifiers in the first phase into this phase. Two of the seeded teams are already out , India & Pakistan who are replaced by Bangladesh & Ireland. Todays game sees hosts West Indies taking on favourites Australia |

vCash: 379 | Fantastic innings by Matthew Hayden yesterday 158 off 140 odd deliveries , he is looking the player of the tournament so far if he carries on like this I can't see the Aussies being beaten . West Indies reply was rained of yesterday so the match will finish today Edit : Australia beat West Indies by 103 runs Last edited by Matt the Thrasher : 03-28-2007 at 06:09 PM. |

vCash: 379 | South Africa beat Sri Lanka by 1 wicket in an incredible match in Guyana. The Sri Lankans were bowled out for a very modest looking 209 which South Africa appeared to be overhauling with ease , in the 45th over SA were 206 for 5 and seemingly cruising when fast bowler Lasith Malinga took 4 wickets in 4 consectutive balls to completely turn the game on it's head , this set up a tense finish and the last 2 SA batsmen were both lucky to survive numerous near misses before Peterson got a thick edge that flew to the boundary to score the winning runs in the final over, very tough on the Sri Lankans |

vCash: 500 | That was an amazing finish to that game!! Would have been hilarious to see the South Africans totally choke it! I think the W.Indies v NZ will be a really tight affair today. I think the crucial thing will be how the W.Indies bat and NZ bowl as I can see the Kiwis scoring heavily but not sure if their bowlers can match it if W.Indies bat well. I think the key man here is going to be Chris Gayle. If he bats well and gets the W.Indies off to a flyer and a good base to build a big title this could go to the wire. I hope the pitch and the weather behaves! |

vCash: 379 | New Zealand beat West Indies with embarassing ease , the Windies were bowled out for 177 , the Kiwi's passed that total for the loss of only 3 wickets & with more than 10 overs to spare. I think the hosts now have no chance of making the semi finals, at this stage I think the most likely last 4 is Australia, South Africa , New Zealand & Sri Lanka. England v Ireland today. |

Oh well, at least we have a football team to be proud of...doh! nevermind, always rugby...doh! We can't even win the darts now Barney has switched sides. At least we're still the best at croquet and binge drinking. |

vCash: 465 | i think it is fairly obvious that austrailia once again will triumph, the only over team with any real form is new zeland, but england a good outside bet, especilally with a nice warm up game against ireland (sorry any irish fans, pakistan was your one big victory). |

vCash: 379 | England beat Ireland by 48 runs , but they'll have to improve a lot to stand any chance against stronger opposition Today it's Australia v Bangladesh , should be a close game |

vCash: 379 | Australia beat Bangladesh by 10 wickets The Aussies brushed the tigers aside in a match reduced to 22 overs a side by rain. They restricted the Bangladeshis to 104 for 6 and Gilchrist & Hayden knocked off the runs in just 13.5 overs. Glenn McGrath is now the leading wicket taker in world cup history his 3 for 16 taking him past Wazim Akram's record of 55. |
