CRICKET WORLD CUP: ENG v NZ

Anyone watching this?

Am stuck at work...following on cricinfo.com but not the same as watching it.

I am struggling to guage how we are doing really...is it a low and slow-scoring pitch?

England 138 for 6 from 38 overs , not looking good they just lost 3 for 5 in seven balls.
Apparently it rained heavily in St Lucia overnight so that could affect the scoring rate.

Cheers for that...I shouldn't have asked as it was 130-3 when I looked and Colly and Pietersen were looking to be building a good p'ship.

Lets hope for a late thrash from the tail end and some good early wickets in the Kiwi innings.

England 209 for 7 off their 50 overs , a pretty small total but a lot better than it might have been.
At 138 for 7 with all the big names back in the pavillion it looked like England wouldn't last the 50 overs but a great partnership between Paul Nixon (42 off 41 balls) & Liam Plunkett ( 29 off 34) means the English bowlers have some sort of total to defend , going to be tough though .

New Zealand passed Englands total for the loss of just four wickets with 9 overs to spare, a very comprehensive victory.
England made a great start , at one stage the kiwis were 2 for 2 then 18 for 3
but England managed only one more dismissal as New Zealand romped home with Styris unbeaten on 87 & Oram on 63.

A dismal start for England.
