The new county cricket season

the new couny cricket season is underway, but which team are you following this summer. Im supporting Lancashre as its the closest team to me

discuss the county cricket generally aswell

I'm not a great fan of county cricket though I follow Middlesex as it's my home county ( unfortunately they are pish but what can you do .)

jus been on skys websites and the only county cricket der gna show is da friends providient trophy no wonder people are losing intrest theres nowhere to watch

i'll be keeping an eye out for notts, also looking forward to tne test against india got tickets for the final two days, can't wait, great atmosphere really is a good day out if the weather is good

The quality of the County Cricket is not high enough to help prepare players to a high enough standard to help the England Team to regularly challenge Australia and win the Cricket World Cup.

I think there should be 2 divisons of 7 teams with 2 promoted and relegated.
Pehaps Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire should be merged into one regional team.

Less teams means a higher concentration of the best players in the each teams and this will help force up domestic standards and better prepare players for England matches. quality instead of quantity.

After all Australia has less than 18 teams in it's dometic cricket championship and I think this has helped them along with having naturally good cricket players to domiate world cricket and to win the World Cup 3 times in a row.

i've recently learned to like cricket, as myself and some mates bought a cricket set a couple of weeks back and had a few overs in the back garden. my best innings so far is 28 runs, before i hit it over the fence. by our rules, that's you out, and you need to go ask the neighbours for the ball back.

anyroad, apart from that i know nothing about cricket, and cannot offer an honest and considered opinion on the matter. although i disagree with whatever Stevens said on principle ;)

maybe not, but being as half the southern teams are under water the county season is struggling, thought i'd mention the national team
