vCash: 480 | Le Guen confronted by Celtic fans Rangers manager Paul Le Guen was confronted by rival fans after watching Celtics match at Hearts, police said. The Frenchman was verbally abused by supporters as he left Tynecastle Stadium in Edinburgh on Sunday. Police confirmed they received reports of an incident involving the coach, who joined the Glasgow club in the summer. The manager was spat at, had his windscreen obscured and was flashed at by a Celtic fan, according to the Scottish Daily Mirror. He was said to have been spotted by Celtic fans, who had just seen their team lose 2-1, near a school on McLeod Street which is used as a car park on matchdays. Le Guen, who was reportedly with his assistant Yves Colleau and other members of his staff, was understood to have then been verbally abused by a group of fans. The paper reported a newspaper was thrust across his windscreen as he tried to drive away after a fan spat at him. A supporter is understood to have then exposed himself to the former Lyon coach. A spokeswoman for Lothian and Borders Police confirmed that officers attended an incident at the stadiums car park after the game. The force said Le Guen was subjected to "banter and backchat". She added no complaint had been received and by the time officers arrived Le Guen had gone. A spokeswoman for Rangers declined to comment. |

vCash: 500 | as i said before, this just makes me embarrassed not just for Celtic but for Scotland. Banter and the like are to be expected but there is no place for the rest of what he was subjected to. |

vCash: 500 | while i am at it i'd like to say that what happened to Paul le Guen at Tyncastle was carried out by mindless thugs who in no way represent true Celtic fans. I consider myself a Scotsman first and Celtic fan 2nd and consequently i'm horrified and ashamed (as a Scotsman) at the actions of those w***ers. What happened is symptomatic of a wider social problem in Britain (i.e yob behaviour). \what must he think of Scotland now. Hopefully decent people in this country get the opportunity to show him, as well as all visitors to this country, how beautiful Scotland can be. |

vCash: 500 | First and foremost, I am totally against what has happened. By all reports the 'banter' was light hearted. This yob behaviour is all around, not just in Scotland, lets not kid ourselves. If PLG thinks that he can mingle with the opposition fans and thinks that he will not be harrassed then he must think again. This would have happened at any ground in Europe. An opposing manager mingling with rival's supporters?? Come on guys, wake up! What would have happened if Rijkaard started to mix with Real Madrid fans? Would they ask for his autograph? ![]() |

vCash: 500 | wouldn't worry about it m8. you retained some dignity (unlike some others). That is something that does annoy a normal and civillised person, being tarred with the same brush. it's a pity he probably aint intelligent enough to see the irony in his post. |
