vCash: 480 | Dallas named Head of Referee Development Hugh Dallas has been appointed as referee development officer at the Scottish Football Association. Dallas, who retired from active refereeing two years ago, will have a key role in developing Scotlands refereeing talent and will take over his new role on September 18. Donald McVicar, head of referee development, said: "Hughs experience, both nationally and internationally, will assist in consolidating the development work which is so important at all levels of the game and provide the scope to take on fresh challenges in the near future and longer term." Dallas is regarded as one of the finest referees ever produced by Scotland, and rose to the top of the national and international game. He officiated at the World Cup and European Championships, and became the first Scottish referee for 40 years to play a role in the World Cup final when he was appointed fourth official for the Brazil versus Germany clash in Yokohama. |
