vCash: 480 | Romanov gives Ivanauskas backing Hearts majority shareholder Vladimir Romanov insists head coach Valdas Ivanauskas job is safe even if the Jambos go out of the Champions League to AEK Athens. The Edinburgh side are 2-1 down from the first leg of their third-round qualifier at Murrayfield and go into the match on the back of a 2-0 defeat by Rangers in the Bank of Scotland Premier League at the weekend. Romanov, who fired George Burley and Graham Rix last season, told the Scottish Daily Express he does not intend to get rid of another Tynecastle boss just yet. He said: "I have full confidence in him (Ivanauskas). Last season I fired people who were putting their own interests ahead of the clubs. I cannot say that in any way about Valdas. I think it is now time to stop this business of raising the question after each game of whether Valdas is going to be sacked. Were building the team and working for the future. Our aim is to create a team to break the football duopoly in Scotland. Valdas is crucial to this process and I have told him he has my strong backing." |

He broke the monopoly of the OF last season when they beat Rangers to the second place, albeit with a few jitterry performances towards the end of the season. | |

vCash: 500 | What do you both think of the Pompey Gaydamak/Cherney situation in light of Romanov? Is Romanove merely a mildly eccentric man indulging himself, or is he going to eventualy strip Hearts when he has had enough? Always had a soft spot for Hearts, who I used to follow in Scotland during the Levine's playing days, so want them to break the monopoly again this year. |

vCash: 500 | There has been lots of talk about what Romanov wants from Hearts. Most non-Hearts fans seem to think that his intentions are money making. Not just to strip the club but he has connections with sides in Lithuania. Hearts bring these players over on loan and will sell them on without receiving and money - the funds going to the Lithaunian side - Skacel to Southampton. there is also a lot of value in Tynecastle which could be developed. |

vCash: 460 | It may be but there are people in football that are there for their own profit and not for the good of the game. Romanov may be one of them too. In the prem, Tevez & Mascherrano going to West Ham. Do you think that was a footballing decision or just using West Ham's presence in England to show these two guy's talents and hopefully get a nice profit when they are sold on? Quote:
