Murray Park - Rangers' Money wasted?

Looking at the teams for the Old Firm match on saturday it certainly looks like Celtic have better young players coming through than Rangers.

When Rangers' training complex, Murray Park - named after Rangers' owner David Murray - was built the cry from Govan was that this would bring on the cream of youth and stand Rangers in good stead for the coming years. Unfortunately for Rangers this doesn't seem to be working as planned.

The teams on Saturday proved to me that the better young players are at Celtic - McGeady, Maloney, McManus, Dea, Marshall, Beattie all came through Celtic's youth system.

I rate the group of youngsters that Celtic are bringing through more highly than the current Rangers squad. Things are looking good for Celtic and we are in the process of building a training acadamy.

But, I think that Rangers will get it right in youth development - it just takes time.

Jeremy Clement is injured. He was not brought through the youth acadamy at Murray Park though.

Clement has looked like rangers best player this year but this is besides the poibnt. A lot of rangers fans may be looking at the fact that they have sepnt £20m on Murray Park however it is celtic that appear to be bringing the best young scottish talent into the league. That said they have brought in steve smith and charlei adam who look like they could handle this level given time.

I was impressed with Adam, though he played well last season on loan. I haven't seen enough of Smith but he looks competent at least.

He moved to Rangers but he has since moved on after a gfall out with someone at the club. Not sure, but I thought that it was bain he fell out with.

Was the scout's name George Adams, or something like that?

Yep, it was george adams. pretty sure it was anyway. Suppose it must say something for the backroom staff that celtic have just now that these guys are getting a shot.

We'll just have to see what happens when we give the guys the proper training facilities instead of having to work at barrowfield.

You are thinking of Charlie Adam who plays for Rangers.

We were talking about George Adams, an old guy who is a chief youth scout.

But, yes Adam does look impressive.

No beuase anything which helps youth development is a good thing.

Cool

Sorry but could you guys throw me a bone and inform me of the amazing youth talent that is better than the Rangers youth that highlights the waste of money for Murray Park.

If you are talking about youth talent nurtured and breaking through then Im lost of if you are talking about players who were already playing for their country and becoming regulars, surely thats two different things.
