vCash: 480 | Maloney wants Celtic stay Celtic striker Shaun Maloney has assured supporters he wants to stay at the club. The 23-year-olds contract negotiations have stalled recently and he will be free to sign a pre-contract agreement with another club in January. But the Scotland international insists the protracted talks with the Hoops hierarchy are merely to ensure the new contract suits everyone. Maloney told the Sunday Mail: "Hopefully, a deal will be sorted out. We are still talking but it has been going on for a little while now. You want to play in big occasions like Wednesday (the Champions League victory over Benfica at Celtic Park) and, hopefully, there will be a few more. My preferred option is to stay - I have said that from day one seven months ago. But the deal has to be right and that is the main thing. I would have liked a deal to be done a lot quicker but both parties have to be happy and, until that happens, it will not be signed." |

vCash: 500 | Maloney would be crazy to leave right now. He is bright guy and has seen waht happened to Miller when he left for Man Utd - nothing. He could not make an impact but he would have become a hero if he stayed at Celtic. Additionally, Maloney has come on leaps and bounds under Strachan, but there is more room for improvement and I think he realises that. He will probably stay for 3 more seasons then move to another league, and I hope we can cash in on him then - just like Petrov. |

vCash: 500 | The night after the Benfica game the Daily Ranger.. sorry Daily Record reported that there was a chelsea scout at the match supposedly to see Maloney. Personally I dont tbhink it will happen because I think Maloney has the sense to see that a move like that would probobly be hinderinse to his career as he wouldnt get a sniff of first team action. I think with the right deal he could be here for another 3 or 4 seasons. |
