vCash: 726 | if anything it's the OF that bring the SPL down. nobody else gets a decent look in, ruining competition. not necessarily because they're so much better than the others, but because they have the financial clout to buy the better players from other teams and then ruin them. |

vCash: 500 | certainly the gulf between the OF doesnt help. It also doesnt help that anytime Celtic are doing welll it seems that rangers are miles behind and vice versa so we rarely get a good title challenge. A 16 team league would be a step in the right direction however teams outwith the OF in the spl would be against this as they beleive they need the revenue from 4 games against the OF per year. The irony here is that i beleieve that a 16 team league would actually improve the quality of the game in the country. |

vCash: 726 | there might be more Scottish talent in Scotland, and less foreign donkeys if the OF didn't ruin half the youngsters and sign foreign donkeys. the OF have a monopoly in Scotland, and they don't like other teams getting close to them. Brown and Thompson are a good example. neither of the OF teams really need them, but they're happy to upset them and prise them away from Hibs. both sides have a history of signing promising players from rival teams, giving them better wages, then leaving them out week after week. i don't know if the quality of the football would be any better, but the quality of the competition would be much higher without the OF. |

vCash: 500 | What do you think of the Scottish Premier League? Could do with 18 teams and 34 games per club per season as the SPL is stale boring and competition is dying off along with (my) interest in the SPL. I find Rugby League's Super League far more interesting to watch as the players and teams are brighter with fireworks and the atmosphere and there is more competition between teams. The SPl should take note of how the Super League is run as they could learn a lot form the Super League like in how to market the teams far better. PS the Super league is better value to watch than an SPl match is. ![]() |

vCash: 500 | more teams I think the sfa should make it to 16 teams or 18. 1st place would get a champions league spot 2nd and 3rd would get a champions league qualify spot. 4th would get a uefa cup spot 5th and 6th would get uefa cup qualifying spot 7th would get a intertoto cup place |

vCash: 465 | what the spl needs is better investment in grass roots football, also i think that the of could follow the spanish league and have a b team olaying in the spl while they play in prem contriversiol i know but with the amount of foreign dross in the spl theres little encouragement for youngsters to play the game., the of could be intergrated into the english league quite easily when you think of some fo the treks fans have ie newcastle/middlesborough london teams and pompey it wouldn't be much further |

vCash: 726 | it'd be about 7 hours each way by coach from Glasgow to London, and you'd need to leave at about 07:30 in the morning in order to get there in time for kickoff - presuming a normal 15:00 kickoff and a swift pint before the game. so it's a bit far for OF supporters to travel every other weekend. |

vCash: 500 | I'm from Glasgow but I've been an Aston Villa fan for as long as I can remember. The SPL is a good league though, recently there seems to have been more chance of other teams breaking it down and taking away the 2-team dominance of it. It's not the best league, but it's definitely not the worst. Fan support is very good. |

vCash: 465 | as far as i can make out from the reports it has to do not with the clubs themselves but with individuals associated with the clubs. rangers and now it seems celtic are starting to go backwards in terms of development maybe they should concentrate on bringing youingsters through and atke a risk rather than buying ready made foreigners all the time, perhaps if they did this then the competition for the top spot might be greater |

vCash: 726 | they should indeed, i've been saying that for years. my faither's been saying it for even longer, too. back in the day, the InFirm had great teams, full of Scots. i'm pretty sure the majority of the Lisbon Lions were all born within a short distance of Parkhead. these days you can usually count the number of Scots on an OF starting lineup on one hand, and the Scots players have mostly been bought from other clubs, who've done all the youth development work, and lost out when the blue or green chequebook comes calling. |

vCash: 500 | Youth development would help the Scottisdh game. but it not just about that. Its about have too many governing bodies and too many games. We don't need an spl. we need a well run set of league's with one organisation running it. We need a league with more teams so that we can cut down the amount of times that teams have to play each over. This has an effect on the quality of play and the crowd turn out. Jock Stein said you can play the greatest game of football in the world but if there are no fans there to see it then its a non event. Play a nil nil draw in front of 60,000 people and it becomes something. the fact that there are so many games makes it harder to afford for fans. |

vCash: 726 | no there's three of them. and they're all bloody useless. the SFA runs the national team, plus youth and junior leagues, but the SPL runs the top division, and the SFL runs the 1st 2nd and 3rd divisions. |
