Riordan Joins Celtic

A great signing and a fantastic talent. But what a strange situation with his contract - runs out in October, he can then join Celtic in Jan 2007. Does anyone know how much Hibs want to release him now?

Supposedly he has a hatred for the darling of Hearts fans Rudi Skacel. He was caught singing abusive songs in an Edinburg pub and then sending him text messages all calling him an asylum seeker. Quality

I would like to see strachan bring in stronger players for the wider areas, Maloney, Riordan, McGeady and Nakamura - I could blow them all over with this one I am building up........

Celtic have refused to offer any money for him now and will hold for the bosman. He will sign for Celtic the day after his 24th Birthday so Hibs will not even get any compensation for him.

Great coup for celtic along with other bosmans kenny miller and Gary Caldwell.

Which stronger players are available that will go to Celtic and play in the SPL, not many of real quality.

How about Skacel for the Old firm? this may upset Romanov at tynecastle. He's been tapped up but by whom?

He will be a good signing if he manages to get a game. The Old Firm are terrible for buying players from other SPL teams and ruining them.

But he is a talented player and best of luck to him with his move.

I think Riorden will get a game for Celtic without a problem. They are really building up a dynamic attack with a lot of players that can play in different positions. I do agree that we will need to add a bit of steel to the midfeild, especially if Keane and Petrov go but i'm reasonably confident that all the Scottish guys that Strachan has bought will get a game.

The old firm always get it in the neck when people talk about scottish players not coming through, i think its shocking. Celtic have higher standards than the other teams in the country and we cant just put players in because they are Scottish, they have to be good enough for Europe. Hopefully Riordan, Miller, and Caldwell will make the grade.

Looks like wee Gord will be playing total football next season.
