The Hibees have some great players and would like to see some others at CP.

Whittaker and Thompson are the two. Also, like Sproule and Brown too but can't see those 2 orangemen choosing the right path.

I agree that these sports centre's that the likes of hearts and hibs are getting are well over due. But i think that the spl should have a good look at itself and take a lot of the blame for the state of the national game.

When the spl started up they punished falkirk for not having a suitable enough stadium to get into the league. Actually depriving the 1st division champions the promotion that they fought for a year to attain.

All this so that they could have some nice stadiums that look good for the tv.

They should have been insisting that teams have plans to build centre's like the one that Hibs have planned by themselves. So that each team would contribute to the Scottish game in exchange for the money that they take out.

Celtic have already started work this year on building a new training complex.

I for one will be disappointed with this, no more driving past Barrowfield watching them train!

 Its not just the Spl clubs that need training facilities. Most of the public football parks have been sold to make way for new housing. Sports facilities in the UK are in a terrible state. A few notable exceptions for elite stars but to breed these star you need grass roots facilities.

That is definately the case up in Scotland, there is just no money outside the Old Firm for the clubs to train young talent.

Clubs in the SPL, other than Rangers, Celtic and Hearts are selling clubs just to keep control of the balance sheet. They bring in foriegn players killing the chances of the young talent that is in this country.

A success story for me would be Hibs. They have invested in their youth system and the results are excellent. Riordan, Whittaker, Thompson, O'Connor, Sproule and Brown are all excellent players proving that a more positive approach to youth develeopment can be successful.

The best remedy in my eyes? Increase the leahgue size to at least 16, play each other 2 instead of 4 times and then teams lying in mid table mediocrity can give younger blood a chance.

It could be done.

The teams are clinging on to 4 extra games to keep, 2 each against Celtic and Rangers, for extra money in a season.

However, if they were bringing in new young talent maybe more fans will come back because of the entertainment value.

Is that not what football is about, entertainment???

True, but these clubs are relying on the Old Firm to survive, yet many of them [Dunfermline in particular] come out and say that they hate the Old Firm so much.

They need their priorities sorted out.

IT CAN BE DONE I TELL YOU.

The 16 team premier league would encourage competition for the likes of Aberdeen, hibs etc..

This new competitive league would attract not only fans to games but increase advertising and tv money for more clubs. It would mean better scottish players improving the non old firm clubs, and even if they get poached by the old firm there would be plenty of young talent to replace them.

MORE TEAMS , MORE COMPETITION , MORE MONEY..

Only 1 problem..... could take 10 years to get to that point and would the likes of Dunfermline want to take some short term pain for big long term gain.

If the SPL are interested in listening to my proposal they can cantact me here

All because the lady loves......
