Celtic Target Graveson

Glasgow Celtic are reported to be interested in unsettled Thomas Gravesen at Real Madrid.

After securing the SPL in his first season as boss of the Parkhead club and with doubt surrounding Roy Keane’s future at the club, Gordon Strachan is looking to strengthen his squad for the coming campaign and Graveson seems to fit the bill.

It also seems certain that Strachan will lose prize asset Stilian Petrov in the summer as he ponders a move to the Premiership with Portsmouth and possibly Middlesbrough vying for his signature, if Martin O’Neill accepts the ‘Boro post.

With the sale of Petrov and after his team secured automatic entry to the Champions League group stages with the aid of Barcelona’s win over Arsenal in the final earlier this month Strachan will have money to spend.

Graveson has never been a first team regular at Real Madrid and with the imminent arrival of a new club president and manager he feels as though the time is right to seek a new challenge.

However, it seems likely that Graveson will sit tight until after the Real Madrid presidential election which takes place on July 2nd.

Good signing for Celtic IF they get him. Strachan would now have three over-aggresive midfielders to choose from.

There is as much chance of this happening as there is of Sweden winning the World Cup. But I can still hope that both come true....
