Celtic Close In On Kadlec

Czech star Michal Kadlec could be a Celtic player by the end of the week after his agent confirmed that talks were progressing well.

The Sparta Prague player had been worried that the deal might fall through as his current club wanted to negotiate a higher price than the one offered by Celtic.

However it would appear Sparta have given Kadlec permission to talk to the Parkhead club and all that seems to remain is the resolution to agree a fee for the Czech internationalist.

A spokesman for Sparta Prague was quoted as saying “It is true Celtic have been interested in signing Kadlec, but there has been no progress in the matter.” He also admitted that they were expecting another bid from the Scottish Champions.

Kadlec has sent encouraging signals for Strachan to be confident of getting his man.

“Celtic means a great atmosphere, superb fans and a sold out stadium all the time.”, the Czech star commented.

“I understand there is a problem over the transfer fee, but I hope that Sparta ask for a fair price for me”

Celtic manager Gordon Strachan is actively seeking a left back and Kadlec looks to be on his wish list along with Quinton Fortune, available on a Bosman after being released by Manchester Utd, who can also play at left back.

Don't much about this guy but he's got to be better than Mo Camara. Anybody seen him play?

Have not, although the Czech's do tend to produce techinically sound players. like you said, anyone has to be better than Mo Camarra

Can you not see the future using the force!!!!!!!!

I'm better than Camara so Kadlec must be. You do sound optimistic about the prospect of a Czech playing for Celtic though.
