Was Keane worth it?

Billy McNeill has just slammed Celtic for signing Roy Keane, saying he was a waste of money?
anyone agree?

yes, most people knew it was a very daft signing, it made no sense at all,whether it be a financial or a footballing one!!

I don't know how much he was on anyway.

Whatever it was it raised the profile of Celtic and also gave a look at a model professional. It gave Mark Wilson, McGeady and Maloney an experienced pro to work with and learn from, that itself should make his transfer to Celtic worthwhile.

definitly lifted the profile of your league. we don't take much notice of it (no offence) but it certainly had you in the news for a bit.
agree Joe, having Keane around even for six months can only be good for the youngsters.
sad to see him go

it was good to have him, even if it was only for 6 months. a true world class player. just great to see him in the hoops. Also think he probably gave that dressing room a kick up the arse at the right time. a few of the old guard were becoming a bit complacent.
