Hearts and Hibs merger?

Why not as both teams are an average standard, and in european competition are rubbish each season they qualify so at least an Edinburgh United FC might get to the quater finals of a European competition in the next last 10 years (not likely to happen if they remain as Hearts and Hibs).

it's stupid. why not merge Glasgow Rangers and Celtic? or Manchester United and Manchester City? or Chelsea and Arsenal?

but i suppose you'd support those ideas as well, eh Stevens? as long as they had a really big, huge capacity all-seater stadium, of course.

You cant just go around saying yous are both crap so why don’t you join and be not so crap. These are clubs that are steeped in history and tradition. And what’s more i believe that they both have the potential if properly run to make an impact in the game.

I'm tired of people being slagging the Scottish game rather than offering ideas to fix it. Hearts and hibs should merge, celtic and rangers should leave etc etc... It is the responsibility of the clubs to rejuvenate this countries game.

The problem with the Scottish League is not so much with the format but the standard of play with in it.

Other countries and other sport manage fine with a 10/12 team top flight like the Swiss Super League and Super League in Rugby League.

I think the biggest problem is the Glasgow Element that makes the Scottish Premier League dull and boring and drags it down to its negative element.

What I am saying is it is not what you have but what you do with it that matters.

The inclusion of since 2004 of Inverness and Gretna have made the Scottish Premier League more interesting despite having the same format and number of teams as before 2004.

Make the SPL bright.

An example is that using the same format when some countries stage say the Euroepan championships in Football country A get bigger attendances than country B depsite using the same product.

Complicated but I hope I have exaplined it so you understand.

The only reason that I want Hearts and Hibs too merge is so that a place in the SPL can be freed up so that a team from another Area can get a place i the SPL in order to freshen up and enhance the SPL.
