Strachan holds hands up after rout

Gordon Strachan admitted Celtic had been no match for DC United after the Hoops suffered a 4-0 defeat in the first game of their US tour.

Strachan offered no excuses for the defeat admitting their opponents took advantage of their greater stamina.

"They blew us off the pitch with their energy," admitted the Hoops boss. "Especially in the second half. As the game went on, (our) players felt less energy. That is disappointing.

"It was the lethargy, really. If you're lethargic, you'll give chances away. If you cure that, then the other things will be cured. We need to work on the lethargy problem."

Mibbe it has something to do with the amount of travelling the squad are doing to try and cope with the money demands of playing these friendlies??

Stop playing them and get them back to concentrate on fitness ffs.

We still have to go to Japan days before we play Hearts away in the second game of the season.

As much as it may be surprising but the American League are becoming rather decent now. DC United are just one of a few teams that could give teams a go.

Its no longer a place where players in the latter stages of thier career go to earn a few dollar.

This has been the opinion of Liam Stiles. The Poster boy of Footballtalk.org
