Celtic trials for Norwegian youngster

Celtic have handed trials to Norwegian teenager Aleksander Bachke.

The 15 year-old is to spend a week at Parkhead in a bid to win a Hoops deal.

15!!!!!!! Jesus!

hey. that's untrue. due to the science we understand about the game and health etc......our players are classier now and have moved onto Richmond lights and Merlots

I heard about this before I left, I bet there will be a few Rangers fans chuckling at this one with Celtic's previous on Boys Club issues.

We have so many young players coming through that we need to blood them to see if they can cut it at the top level.

Surely he won't be able to get a full time contract. Imagine being fifteen and living in another country with all that pressure on you.

it's one thing knowing you have little money to spend, it's another coming up with a plan B and in most SPL clubs cases it's all about brining through the youth players. For me Celtic aren't doing this half-hearted as the current crop of young plaers shows. The young players in the 1st team are clearly there on merit. long may it continue.
This bhoy must have something really special.

If the guy has potential bring him in. Our youth team needs competition as well. Lets face it. In 1996 our prospects for the future coming through the youth ranks were Simon Donnelly, Brian McLaughlin and Chris Hay (remember them?) at least now we seem to be hearing about 4 or 5 prospects every year. I mean where in the name of jesus, jehova, scooby and all the other fictional charactors did rocco quinn come from???!!!

How much do you think Celtic have saved from bringing these players into the team?
Beattie (£2m?), Maloney (£5m?), Marshall (£1m?), MacManus (£1.5M?), Kennedy (£2m?), McGeady (£3m?), Wallace(£500k) then you have the players coming through just now in Quinn, Lawson, Mulgrew and McGlinchey.

n. haven't mentioned the players like riordon and wilson because we knicked them off of other clubs!

Quinn has been there for a while. There are others that you have not mentioned that are highly thought of. The likes of Simon Ferry, Gary Irvine and Ryan Conroy are all pushing for first team action.
